I could get pretty worked up about this course series.
Macro/Micro should cover the Naturopathic tradition of supplementation use. Evidence presented in class indicates supplementation is unnecessary, but naturopathy has a long tradition of healing thru use of supplementation. What anecdotal evidence do NDs see that furthers this tradition?
What are US trends in supplementation use?
Could doctor as teacher role be integrated into this course? what micro/macro information is most relevant to pass on to a patient? are handouts effective? what kind of handouts?
I agree with all of this. I want to here about what clinician have found to be helpful. I want the information to relevant to what I will see in my practice which will probably be subclinical deficiencies not frank deficiencies.
I think it is great to know the functions different vitamins and minerals play in the body so that I can think through what the effects of subclinical deficiency might be, so I like that aspect of the class.
So far I have been disappointed by this series. I don't like the fact that there is no continuum between these first two classes.
